2023 Fist Fight Barossa Shiraz
2023 Fist Fight Barossa Shiraz
When the brothers were younger, they were known for getting into a fist fight here and there. Making this blend of Barossa and Eden Valley Shiraz was no exception, made with Sam’s love of all things Barossa and Angus’ love of all things Eden Valley.
This Barossa Shiraz is deep crimson in colour and displays aromas of forest fruits and wild berries, with additional complex spicy aromas. On the palate are layers of forest fruits, cigar box spices and chocolate. Long fine, velvety tannins persist in this delicate balanced and well-structured wine.
Winemaking
This wine is a blend of individual Shiraz parcels from hand selected vineyards throughout the Barossa and Eden Valleys. All fruit was destemmed not crushed into small open top fermenters with a component of whole bunch clusters. The fruit was then held at 10-15 degrees for five days before being allowed to warm and start fermentation. After 15 days on skins and hand plunged daily, the wines were pressed to 20% new 80% seasoned French Oak Puncheons where they matured for 15 months. No fining or filtration was used on these wines.
