2024 Eden Valley Single Vineyard Mataro

This old vine, single vineyard Mataro comes from 80+ year old vines at Pendee Farm in Eden Valley. 

Long underappreciated, Mataro is one of the Barossa’s ‘best kept secrets’ - often used in blends but remarkable as a standalone varietal.

Fermented with 20% whole bunches, with the remainder destemmed but not crushed to retain whole berries. The juice was hand-plunged twice daily for two weeks before being pressed to a French oak foudre. Aged on lees for 15 months.

Bottled unfined and unfiltered.
